Our programme is prisoner centric, aimed at those who demonstrate a strong desire to change. To build a successful life the prisoner must decide the direction they wish to go, set their own goals & be supported and also held accountable for reaching those goals.
1. Referral

Referral received from

  • Family/whanau of prisoner

  • Other interested parties

2. Consideration
Alignment of values and expectations.
3. Connection & planning

  • Connect with Prisoner pre-release to engage in whakawhanaungatanga – relationship building.

  • Safety plan

  • Structure/routine for life in the community

  • Bank account

  • Advocacy with WINZ

  • Work options

4. Support options

  • Individual mentor/support group identified

  • Train and develop mentor/support group

  • Liaise with mentor/support group and Corrections to monitor and manage fulfilment of release plans and any issues that may arise along the journey
